• You’re very welcome. Glad it helped.

  • Hello friends,

Just to say hello…very busy lately and I can’t believe that the holidays are upon us. Yikes!!

  • You’re very welcome. Let us know how you get on AND if you don’t use Feedburner & decide to, whether a video showing that being set up would be useful.

  • Thank you so much Mark! Looks easy to do and I will try this later.

Rather than search out a WordPress plugin to display your RSS Feed icon in your sidebar this video shows how to simply use a Text Widget to allow your visitors to access your […]

  • Which plugin should I use when adding an rss icon via a widget to a blog?

  • Have you tried “applying” for the fre trial using a different email address? It usually works for most things.

    • Yes and was able to download a free trial but when I tried to use it, it keeps telling me that I already had a free trial. I guess they have some way of checking by someone’s name or websites?

A friend of mine was having the same problem and wrote to them asking nicely if she could have another trial since she never used the first one. She was…[Read more]

      • My dogs and cats have used many of the free trails with big success. I have also had to warm my mother if she ever gets a call for ”rusty” (he’s the rescue cat”) tell them he’s unavailable.

  • Whahhhh! I tried downloading MS and got a message stating that I am only allowed one free trial.

I guess the only option for me now is to continue using the Google keyword research tool.

    • Hey Diana
I went through the free trial some time ago but I’m not sure if we had access to all of the training videos. When I watched the videos that Mark had posted I decided to just outright buy it because it is a phenomenal tool and the free trial doesn’t really do it justice. Although now that I am almost a one yearer, I understand the power…[Read more]

  • Hi Mark, Denise, Diana and fellow members
Hope you are all well – looks like we have all been busy on the IM!! Mark still haven’t really tackled AWeber – it’s on my ever increasing ”To Do” list.
    Cheers
    Janet

    • Hi Janet,

Yes, we are all very busy and that ”to do” list keeps growing every day!

Wish I could help you with Aweber but I use getresponse. Had some issues with Aweber years ago and stop using their services.

      Good luck with Aweber!!

    • Hi Janet

I took a few weeks off at the end of August and last week was catch-up time & getting the boys back to school.

Fully back now so if you need any help just let me know.

      • Thanks Mark – the Internet has once again dropped out and been intermittent for a week now. It seems to be working reasonably well now but think we will have to change providers!! Took a week off work to try and get up a couple of sites and it is now Wednesday!

  • Well I never! Why were you visiting Tottenham? Seems a strange place to come to when there’s the whole of England to choose from – unless of course you are a closet football (soccer) fan!

    • My one class over there was documentary photo journalism. I hit all the cities, towns and villages. It was amazing. I found I liked the less traveled areas the best. I also went to Scotland and Wales.

      • The area will have changed dramatically since you were there. Decades of underr / no investment. Very little business and one of the most deprived areas in London. Very sad.

The “getting organized” video is fantastic! I use file marker and love it. The better breakdown and finance folder is a great idea. And confession time. Robo form has been on my computer for a year – but I don’t use it. I know, silly me.

I think this video should be the second video you watch. I know if I had not set up files like they…[Read more]

  • I visited Tottenham many years ago and thought it was a charming town. I cold not believe the destruction I saw going on. That type of damage takes a long to to fix and heal.

My best wishes to all who have lost from this event.

  • I agree with you Mark but it is what it is and we have no control over situations like this. We have them here in America as well. Life goes on so try and clear your mind and get rid of this horrible situation by thinking positive thoughts. The Serenity prayer comes to mind here… [...]

  • The vast majority of people are good, indeed. However, like a cancer, sometimes there is no cure and the condition just has to be managed as best it can. I really don’t know what can be done to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

  • I honestly fear for society! With such a blatant disregard for “right” and for other people how on earth can that attitude / way of living be changed in these people? When an area falls in to such decay and anarchy there is no simple solution and frankly I think the decline is likely tro [...]

  • It really is sad Mark and yes, my heart goes out to all the business people whose lives are shattered as a result of this. This is not your fault and there is nothing you can do about it. I do fault parents for raising monsters that create such a horrible destruction to a neighborhood. [...]

  • We have been watching the news with great shock and horror Mark – and hoping that my English IM friends are all safe. I think some kids are growing up with the regulator button not quite set properly. I read an article the other day about kids starting school that don’t even have any language [...]

  • It was easy peasy to set up, I have joined and added a form, but I haven’t gone into the rest of it yet so will let you know. I have got 2 days off then the weekend so plan to spend some time going through the tutorials. Will let you know how I go.

  • ThumbnailThe riots in Tottenham this week have really saddened me. I won’t go on about the “criminality” of the acts of violence and looting – here isn’t the place. And there is always a much deeper rooted reason for everything that unless you are faced with exactly the same plight as the perpetrators you can never [...]

  • Does everybody have difficulty with AWeber (I guess any autoresponder for that matter)? It certainly seems a stumbling block for many people. I’d really appreciate it if you could all let me know what you find tough about using an autoresponder and I’ll see if I can do a video that will simplify the process [...]

    • I have finally figured out how to get a form in for aweber. (You saw my struggle Mark.) To me it was overwhelming. The videos on aweber did not make much sense to me, probably because I did not know half the terms they were using. And the suport was really not that great. I did not know how to make a widget, any html, how to make changes,…[Read more]

      • Besides having my aweber account disappear several times and being told to create new ones, it was the support level that prompted me to switch to getresponse.

If you have a list of members, you can start by sending them broadcast messages with relevant information so you can develop rapport with them. I have a broadcast message capability with…[Read more]

        • I guess everone has their favourite “programs” – either through choice or a bad experience with something else.

Personally I chose aweber because it seemed to be most widely used at the time and I’ve never had any problems with it.

It would be helpful to hear other peoples views and experiences with the tools (hosting, autoresponders etc,…[Read more]

          • Not sure if this question belongs here but I don’t know how to start a new thread…:-)

What are the differences between Wordpress and Wordpress Direct?

I use Wordpress and love it but heard there is also WP Direct which is news to me.

            Thanks,
            Diana

            • Wordpress Direct is a “product”, “service” or “program” that uses Wordpress as its core.

I believe it was being pushed by the 30DayChallenge guys a few years ago. It is a simple way for a beginner particularly to get a Wordpress site up and running with various SEO benefits. The basic free version is very limited and I think (although I’m…[Read more]

              • Thanks Mark for the explanation of WP Direct. Sounds like it is something that I don’t need. I am happy with Wordpress and will continue to use it. :-)

              • Word press direct was pushed by 30 day. Its free version will help set up a blog quicker. you can use the product three times for free. You have a word press site but 5 to 9 plug-ins were there and your site was up in seconds. (that was before I knew about fantastico) I did use it on one of my sites. I am not sure if it left an underlying problem…[Read more]

                • I think there are some really great programs / services that severely let themselves down by the constant promotions. I guess they don’t care if they lose a percentage of users – there are plenty more who take up the offers and pay the mortgage!

There’s nothing wrong with promoting stuff but every time you get a message from som,e people…[Read more]
